ELIZABETH HADDAD

Elizabeth Haddad is a contemporary artist whose works are executed in a variety of media including acrylic, ink and collage. Abstract rather than representational, Elizabeth’s paintings rely heavily on line and colour to express mood. She is inspired by the work of artists such as Diebenkorn and Milton Avery, and Egon Schiele for his powerful figurative art. Australian artists who have been influential include Tony Tuckson and Ian Fairweather. Although landscapes and still life comprise much of Elizabeth’s work, she is most drawn to figurative work for the challenge it presents in refining her drawing skills and for the dynamism and emotional connection each model brings to the relationship between artist and subject.
